Kuria: If you go to Kondele, I am second in popularity after Raila

Trade minister-designate Moses Kuria has attracted a strong spark from some netizens after he said that he is very popular in the stronghold of the leader of the Azimio La Umoja, Raila Odinga.

Speaking when he arrived before the national parliament committee that questions and vets the nominated ministers, Kuria said that he holds the second place in popularity in the Kondele shanty town located on the outskirts of Kisumu city.

Kuria said that he is responsible for bringing harmony and unity among Kenyans even though he is being quoted badly by some groups on the internet, but also by a few people who are very influential in society.

"I am misquoted by some groups on social networks and also by a few influential people in society. But if you go to many parts of this nation, they know me as a peace-loving Kenyan, who always devotes himself to bring balance and unity among people," Kuria said.

"An area like Kondele, I am the second most popular person after Raila Odinga, and that is undisputed because it is in the record, so I am very responsible to bring balance and Kenyans can look at me as someone who will work to bring unity," he added.

He revealed that his wealth is worth 750 million which is derived from the development of real estate and shares held in various businesses in the industrial sector, technology as well as energy.
