General Muhoozi defies the Ugandan president's ban
Ugandan General Muhoozi Kainerugaba says "no one will ban him from doing anything" a day after his father, President Yoweri Museveni, ordered him to stop expressing his views on government matters on Twitter.
The president's intervention came after General Kainerugaba posted a controversial message two weeks ago where he threatened to invade the neighboring country of Kenya, causing the president to apologize to the public and hold diplomatic meetings to confirm the relationship.
On Monday, the president said the general would avoid "talking about other countries and Uganda's biased politics" on Twitter. But hours later, General Kainerugaba wondered if the ban was "some kind of joke".
General Kainerugaba is known for his controversial tweets, including those in support of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the Tigrayan rebels fighting the Ethiopian government.
