Cherargei wants the government to deny Raila permission to protest after Cherera resigned
Raila Odinga's plan to organize a protest against the plot to sack 4 commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) continues to cause a stir.
The planned protest took a new turn on Monday morning, 5 December 2022, after IEBC Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera and Nyangaya resigned.
Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei has spoken shortly after Cherera's resignation calling on the government to deny Raila's police permission to hold protests.
The senator said that Kenyans need to work and the resignation of two IEBC Commissioners who had quarreled has made the protesters lost, confused and politically forgotten.
"The resignation of IEBC deputy commissioners Cherera & Ngangaya has been delayed for a long time after he put the country in a state of chaos and put the Tinga Protests in controversy, confusion and political oblivion. The government should deny him a police license because Kenyans need jobs!" Cherargei said.
Earlier, President William Ruto had confirmed that the government was ready to send enough police to the azimio protest to protect the property of Kenyans.
