The security guard who was allegedly killed by Barasa was finally buried in Kakamega

The late Brian Odinga Olunga, the driver of Kimilili parliamentary candidate for the DAP-K ticket Brian Khaemba who was allegedly killed by MP Didmus Barasa was finally buried at his home in Samiti, Navakholo constituency, Kakamega County.

Olunga who was only 21 years old when he met his death was buried on Saturday in a ceremony full of sadness and sorrow.

Hundreds of locals, young people and several politicians attended the funeral of the Masinde Muliro University student.

While mourning him, Olunga's former employer, Brian Khaemba who lost the parliamentary race to Barasa in the August 9 election, prayed that the killer would never find peace.

""Go well my brother, my namesake and my protector Brian Olunga. May your killer not know peace in this world and in the world to come. Until we meet again on that beautiful beach," Khaemba said.

The Kakamega gubernatorial candidate on the ODM ticket Fernandes Barasa called on the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the murder of Olunga and ensure that the person involved receives the appropriate punishment.

"It was a very emotional moment in Samitsi, Malava Sub-County when we were burying Brian Olunga. The deceased was killed on August 9 in Kimilili. I call on the authorities to speed up the investigation into this senseless killing so that the perpetrators can be brought to justice," Barasa said on Twitter.

The deceased was buried while Barasa, who is alleged to have committed his murder, continues to be detained at the Bungoma police station.

Barasa surrendered to the police on August 12 after the manhunt against him was announced.

On Tuesday, the court ordered the suspect to remain in custody for 10 more days to give investigators time to complete and submit reports on the body and the weapon used in the murder.

The case will be mentioned again on August 24 for the DPP to confirm the status of the investigation before making a decision to charge.
