Governor Kibwana of Makueni agrees to join Kenya Kwanza
While a wave of politicians in Kenya seem eager to support themselves on the side of the next government that the Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC has already announced William Ruto despite his victory being contested in court by his competitor Raila Odinga, many politicians who were on the side of the Azimio la Umoja have continued to migrate and join Ruto's wing.
Last week, many parties and politicians who were part of the Azimio coalition as well as those who were running on an independent ticket joined Ruto as the issue caused a stir among Azimio members who said it was a plot by Ruto to destroy Azimio.
Now Ruto has continued to throw his hook in some big name leaders who were Azimio and his hook this time has caught the outgoing governor of Makueni, the legal scholar Kivutha Kibwana who has joined Kenya Kwanza.
Welcoming him to his official residence in Karen, Ruto said that Kibwana and other leaders from Makueni county are now officially part of Kenya Kwanza's big team and hinted that the legal scholar will now join the team of lawyers who will defend Ruto's victory in the Supreme Court on the case that was presented yesterday by the Azimio coalition.
"The governor of Makueni will join the legal team of Kenya Kwanza in the ongoing petition to challenge the presidential election. At the Karen residence, I have welcomed Governor Kibwana to the Kenya Kwanza wing accompanied by other leaders," Ruto hinted on his Facebook.
In addition, the outgoing deputy president said that as Kenya Kwanza, they are proud of the progress that the governor has implemented in the county during his ten years in office.
"We are cooperating with the leadership that Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has demonstrated by agreeing to work with us in advancing the development agenda of our country," Ruto said.
Last week several leaders who contested on an independent ticket such as Meru governor-elect Kawira Mwangaza joined Ruto's camp while also the UDM party led by its leader Ali Roba who is the senator-elect of Mandera also joined Kenya Kwanza.
