Aisha Jumwa denied being involved in the murder

Former Kilifi gubernatorial candidate Aisha Jumwa has admitted that she does not own any gun, nor has she killed anyone in her life.

Aisha said this when she appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on the nomination on Tuesday.

"I do not own a gun. I have never in my life asked for a gun. I am clear in my mind that I never shot anyone," Jumwa added.

The appointed Minister of Public Service, Gender and Bias revealed that she does not even know the names of guns in Kenya.

Jumwa was accused of killing 48-year-old Ngumbao Jola on October 15, 2020, when unrest broke out during a by-election.

Jumwa had been accused along with his assistant Geoffrey Okuto of killing a man in the chaos that broke out during the Ganda Ward by-election.

However, on Tuesday, the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Hajji submitted a request for the murder case filed against Jumwa to be settled out of court.
