Kennedy Kalonzo: I am grateful for the trust given to me

Kennedy Kalonzo has thanked the members of the Senate and the National Assembly for voting for him to represent the country in the East African Parliament.

Speaking shortly after voting ended on Thursday evening, Kennedy said the decision of the Houses of Representatives to send him to the provincial Assembly for the second time shows the confidence they have in his abilities.

"Let me start by thanking God for this important guarantee that was awarded to me and my new colleagues. I also want to thank my committee who were worried that they would miss their chairman.", Kennedy said.

He thanked Kenyans through their representatives and the majority and minority leadership of both houses of parliament.

Kennedy is one of the four members elected to EALA from the Azimio Alliance. He got 262 votes.

Others are Winnie Odinga (247), Kanini Kega (197) and Shahbal Suleiman (181).
