A man has been accused of stealing an IEBC computer worth Sh220,000

A man who allegedly stole a laptop worth Sh220,000 from the IEBC on Wednesday this week was brought to court in Nairobi to answer the charge of theft.

However, Musa Ogendo Sirangi did not respond to the charge after the court adjourned the case until Monday next week.

This is after Sirangi told Judge Ondieki that he was attacked by the police when he was arrested and he did not have a lawyer.

In the charge filed in court, it is alleged that on August 17 in the Anniversary Towers building next to the university in Nairobi, he stole an HP Probook laptop worth Shs 226,240 belonging to the IEBC.

Sirangi will be detained at the Central Police station until Monday when he will be formally charged with the crime.
