Ukraine President calls on NATO to attack Russia to prevent it from using nuclear weapons

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking via video at an Australian think tank on October 6, said that NATO must launch a pre-emptive strike to "eliminate the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons."

At the same time, the president did not clarify whether he meant nuclear attacks or the use of conventional weapons.

What should NATO do? Zelensky asked, and answered himself. "Remove the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons."

"But what is important, I once again call on the international community, as it was before February 24: preventive strikes, so that they know what will happen to them if nuclear is used. And not the other way around - to wait for Russian nuclear attacks, " " Zelensky said.

This statement attracted the opinion of the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Sergei Nikiforov, who emphasized that Ukraine does not call for the use of nuclear weapons.

"The president talked about the period until February 24. Then it was necessary to take preventive measures to prevent Russia from starting a war. Let me remind you that the only measures that were discussed at that time were preventive measures," Nikiforov wrote on Facebook. .
