Raila Odinga's 3-Year Term as AU Envoy for Infrastructure Development Comes to an End

Raila Odinga

Raila Odinga's tenure as the African Union (AU) High Representative for Infrastructure Development has come to an end. He was appointed to the position in October 2018 and has been serving for the past three years. During his time in office, Odinga played a crucial role in advocating for the development of infrastructure in Africa, particularly in the areas of transport, energy, and communication.

Odinga was also instrumental in bringing together African leaders and stakeholders to work towards the realization of Agenda 2063, which is a strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the continent over the next 50 years. His efforts have been recognized and appreciated by the African Union Commission and member states.

Following the end of his tenure, Odinga expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the African Union and the continent as a whole. He stated that he was proud of the progress that had been made during his tenure, and was optimistic about the future of infrastructure development in Africa.

As the search for his successor begins, Odinga has called for the African Union to prioritize the development of infrastructure in order to achieve sustainable economic growth and development on the continent.
