Singer Ray C Welcomes First Child

Renowned Bongo Flava artist, Rehema Chalamila, famously known as Ray C, has become a first-time mother. On Monday, she took to social media to announce the arrival of her newborn baby, whom she has named Shahrukh. The post has garnered a tremendous response from her fellow celebrities and fans, who have showered the songstress with well wishes.

The news of Ray C's motherhood comes just a week after she revealed her pregnancy, having moved to France with her partner two years prior. The announcement of her expectancy was met with great excitement, with many admirers congratulating her on embracing parenthood.

Celebrities such as Kenya's Nameless and Bongo Flava singer LavaLava were among those who celebrated the arrival of Ray C's bundle of joy. Nameless said, "Alaaaar... Hongera my sister!"

Ray C rose to prominence in the early 2000s, placing Tanzanian music on the global stage before current artists such as Diamond Platnumz and Nandy gained popularity. She was widely admired, receiving praise from fans, fellow celebrities, and even politicians.

Unfortunately, Ray C's career took a downturn when she became ensnared in drug addiction. The situation was so severe that former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete intervened and took her to rehabilitation in an attempt to revive her career. Ray C recovered, but her path back to stardom was not as smooth as she had hoped.

Eventually, Ray C met her Caucasian partner and the two relocated to Europe, where they now reside and raise their family.
